About Us
Deepening and developing of American Studies
The Center for American Studies at Nanzan University was founded in 1976 with an institutional grant from the Fulbright Commission as a regional center for scholars in the field of American Studies. Fostering interdisciplinary programs in American Studies at Nanzan, the Center has a library with a specialized collection of books, magazines, and documents providing information on American politics, diplomacy, economy, society, history, culture, language, and literature. Researchers and students may obtain access to the Center library as well as the University library. Its academic journal, The Nanzan Review of American Studies is published annually and well known in its field. Every year we host a variety of lectures and seminars in American Studies and have contributed to deepening of and education about American Studies in cooperation with the Nagoya American Center and researcher organizations in the region of Nagoya. We serve to expand our activities as the center of American Studies in the central region of Japan.
