Thinking about Europe, Thinking about the World
The Center for European Studies at Nanzan University, established in 1991, aims to promote mutual understanding between Europe and Japan. Europe is undergoing dramatic changes economically, politically and socially. Our primary objective is to facilitate research across the various academic disciplines in order to better understand the nature of 21st century Europe. To that end, a public library of books and other materials on Europe has been established at the Center. We also host conferences, seminars and symposia for researchers based inside and outside of Japan. The outcome of these research activities is publicly accessible through an annual bulletin and the Center's website to serve a better understanding of Europe.
